I drove to the authorized service center listed on the TEAC website. I am not getting any help or "Customer Service" from this company. The responses from Teac's Factory Service Department are curt and useless.I am done. There was no explanation in the manual, so we contacted TEAC.
Then TEAC said to ship it back to them. Would anyone like to buy a broken CD player. As if I still had all the packaging.
Our TEAC CD player stopped working and showed an error message. Closed.Out of Business and for some time. Ha
TEAC said it sounded like the laser was shot so to take our unit to an authorized dealer. Gone.
Great deal for the money. There was no humming at all and radio stations came in clear also. This was a gift for my mother and she was able to set up on her own. The sound from it is wonderful and very clear.
It would be nice if the time display would be the default when the radio and the CD player are in use, but it is not. There are auxiliary ports to attach headphones, speakers, DVD players, etc., so this unit is versatile as well. These extra features add to the size, so the SR-L50 is larger than the average clock radio.
This unit exceeded my expectations on all levels. As for the sound, I have a fairly expensive stereo component system elsewhere in the house, so I was quite pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound, especially for a tabletop unit. I was looking for a compact CD player/clock radio for my bedroom that was stylish, had a good sound, and was reasonably priced.
The bass has a 50% boost, and the 10-watt subwoofer adds considerably to the sound quality. Bottom line: You'll more than get your money's worth with this. I considered the Bose, but it isn't as attractive, doesn't sound any better, and costs hundreds of dollars more.
The very sleek TEAC has cool blue neon accent lighting (which can be dimmed but not turned off completely).

Not able to program clock alarm system for Monday thru Fridays only. Very good product. Larger than expected.
